Jacob pushed himself and ran even faster. He could feel the cold, wet sand squish up through his toes as his feet sunk into the sand. He brushed the sweat off his forehead as he neared the beach house that they were staying in and slowed down his pace. He then fought off the chills as he stopped and jogged in place to slow his rapidly beating heart.

He leaned down and rested his hands on his knees and let his intense, green eyes set on the horizon of the beautiful crystal waters. He could see a sliver of the bright, orange, sun as it prepared to rise and light the day. It was a time of the morning that he had always loved. Once his breathing returned to normal, he stood up and walked to the shore in the stillness of the early morning. No one was out. The crowds would soon fill the beach with excitement and energy, but now it was deserted and peaceful. He sat down a few inches from where the frosty water would reach as the waves rolled in. he pulled his legs up to his chest and rocked back and forth slowly as his breath caught at the site before him. The sun edged upwards making the great sphere more visible with each passing second. Jacob closed his eyes and could still see the unbelievable colors and flashes as the sun rose.

He continued to admire the site before him in silence until he gasped as someone sat down behind him and encircled him in their arms.

“You scared me, Liz,” he whispered as he leaned back into her loving embrace. She had sat down and moved as close as she could to his body. Her legs were straight out in front of her, one on each side of his body. Jacob’s back was to her, and he did not turn around. Liz leaned over and placed her lips to his left ear.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” she whispered to him as her nose brushed his curls.

    “Mmm Hmm,” Jacob responded.

Liz was dressed in a big white sweatshirt and some short pajama shorts. She shivered as the tide surged and the water touched their heels that rested in the cold sand. Her bright pink toe polish dissapeared under the water for a few seconds before becoming visible again.

Jacob leaned his head back further into her body and turned it to get his first look at her face. She turned her head to him and smiled.

Their lips met softly at first until Jacob needed more and deepened it. Liz removed her arms from his body and pulled her legs up so that she could get up and kneel. Jacob did the same for more access and soon they were facing each other, kneeling. Jacob pulled her closer by guiding her to him with his hands at her lower back. His cold hands snaked under the big sweatshirt and massaged the incredibly smooth and warm skin of her back. Liz sighed into their kiss and cupped his head with her hands as the passion grew.

“This is all so new,” she whispered to him as they both turned their heads and watched as the sun rose to new heights. Their legs were covered in wet sand and Liz’s hair blew away from her face in the early, morning breeze. Jacob stared at her and didn’t say anything. She watched him quietly for a minute before reaching out and running her fingers over his face. She stopped when she reached his lips. She ran her two thumbs over them sweetly. Jacob closed his eyes and sighed as she leaned in and dropped kisses on his cheeks. His face held a rosy glow as his body temperature cooled after his early morning workout. He shivered at the feelings that she caused to flow through him so easily. She calmed him and set him free.

“Cold, baby?” she questioned as he moved closer to her and nuzzled his nose into her neck. Liz giggled at the freezing nose that touched her.

“Just kiss me,” he whispered as he looked back up to her.

Liz smiled at him and closed the distance between their lips.

“I want this to last forever,” she whispered into his mouth as his tongue slipped into her mouth and his hands held her waist firmly to his body.

“We are forever,” he whispered back.

“Sing to me,” Liz said sweetly as they pulled apart to breathe. Jacob looked into her eyes and smiled.

“What do you want me to sing?” he asked as he sat down and pulled her into his arms.

This time their roles were reversed. Liz was looking out to the water with Jacob behind her. He encircled her tiny waist in his arms and entwined his legs with hers.

“Anything…” she said. “I just want to hear your voice,” she whispered.

Jacob’s heart ached at the intensity of the feelings that surged through him at her words. He smiled behind her and cleared his throat as he began to sing; “Say, Say.”

The End
