The Card
You hadn't even been waiting for it, but here it is: the text to a rather pathetic card I planned on giving Dan for our year-and-a-half anniversary (if you don't understand the significance of that date, you haven't read either the background or this musing). Sorry about the sort of run-on effect; I plan on scanning the actual card soon so you can see what I was trying to do there. It's nothing too exciting, but I like scanning things.

Things I Like About You
the way your face scrunches up right after I say something silly and right before you say "boop boop"how nice your teeth and lips looks when you do that sort of half-smilethe face that you were kind of upset when I denounced MarioKart as being "too slow"how you almost always start off a telephone conversation with "hooow you doin'" or "hoooow are you"when you do that fake crying thing, and it looks so cutethe fact that when I press my fingers to your lips, you know to kiss themthat you open doors for meeven if you're embarrassed, you don't get mad at me for kissing you in public (most of the the time)that you put your arm around me in churchyour paltry excuses for tickling me ("you want me to")that you go to Barnes and Noble with me (and bought me soup!)I can always be sure of your acceptance and love, no matter what my opinion, ishow you look and sound when you say, "Oh, that's so cute" with that lispyour frugality (though bothersome, it helps keep me in check)that you think I'm beautifulyour lips, neck, face, eyes, etc., etc., etc.that you don't ever show that you're annoyed when I interrupt your reading for the five hundreth timethe fact that I can trust you completelythat you did, in fact, once run out of the room screaming when Brittany Spears came onthat you get so excited about silly things, like remote-control lampsthat you like to touch methat you can get along well with anyonethat you put up with my moodsthat you've seemed to make an art of tickling meholding youwhen you say "that's crazy" or "oh no"that you are not so genial that I have to slap you out of a comatose statewhen you say, "that's my little girlfriend" when you're proud of methat you strive to do what's right and walk in God's paththat you care about those things too often dismissed by the massesyou are a wonderful personyou have good taste in girlfriendsyou are decisive when it really matters
