A peculiar thing . . .

After struggling with one of the Hedon road images for over a week I reached what I can only describe as a 'potato moment' (like when you say a word - eg. potato - contiually, until it loses all meaning): the point at which you lose the power of objective judgement about a piece of work.

II took the picture round to show some friends for a second opinion. Everyone responded with the idea that it echoed a particular painting, which I didn't think I'd seen before. A late night browse on the web located a copy of the picture everyone had been talking about and I must admit I was quite taken aback:

The picture in question was Holman Hunt's 'The Light of the world'. . .
