Internationally-Trained Teachers Workshop
The I-TT Meetings resume for the new school year. These workshops are open to OTBU members who were internationally educated and/or teacher trained. We endeavour to help you make a successful transition to TDSB and Ontario education. We provide information and strategies both within the classroom and in helping you progress to your teaching goals.
Many of you may be planning to apply to get on the Eligible to Hire List for TDSB contract teaching beginning in Sept 2010. These workshops will assist you in putting together a compelling resume and covering letter. Your presentation of yourself, your skills, attitudes and understandings need to developed through strong interviewing skills. We will spend considerable time on this aspect of the hiring process.
Mrs. Tasneem Khan has been with us for the past four years and we are very lucky to have her. Tasneem is internationally-trained herself and has a wealth of relevant experience and understanding to help you. On arriving in Canada Tasneem became a secondary teacher and then a very successful TDSB high school principal. With this experience she is well equipped to to understand where you currently are positioned and also to see what needs to be there for you to attain your professional goals.

Friday, Sept. 25th - 4 - 6 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 23rd - 4 - 6 p.m.
The location remains the same: CALC (City Adult Learning Centre) on the southwest corner of Danforth and Broadview - beside the bridge. We convene in the meeting room in the main office. If you coming by TTC go to the Broadview subway stop. If you are driving there is parking on the premises.
