"Martian Successor Nadesico"

In the year 2195 the Earth's colonies on Mars are attacked by savage aliens from beyond the planet Jupiter and the lunar colonies were next. One year after the Earth miltary's (United Forces, or UF for short) embarrassing loss at what is now referred to as "The First Battle of Mars," a private company called Nergal Heavy Industries builds a warship. That ship is the high mobile battleship Nadesico.

Plot: 5/5

The plot is all good here. Plenty twists and turns to keep it fresh. The show does seem to turn into Tenchi Muyo! with robots at times, but it's funny so I'm not going to complain. Just remember that there is A LOT of silliness in this show. It's like Morkai said when a few of us were sitting around watching this, "Evangelion is mindf*ck, this is 'What the f*ck!?!'"

Localization: 4.5/5

Those who are new to anime may miss some of the more subtle jokes and references, but they'll still get more than enough to be able to enjoy the show. One of the last good ADV dubs ("good" meaning that they stayed close to the subbed script). Unfortunately, Izumi's puns didn't seem to translate too well, but I guess that's not too bad.

Animation: 5/5

The animation is virtually flawless, especially the battles. The fights between the Nadesico's Aestivalis' and the Jovian's drones is just breath-taking--and since Xebec actually had a decent budget for this, the non-battle animation looks great, too.

Overall: 0.5/5

This has definitely become one of my favorite series. . .so why just 0.5 out 5? Simple. . .it's because THEY KILL THE COOLEST GODDAMN CHARACTER IN THE SHOW IN THE THIRD F*****G EPISODE, THAT'S WHY!!!!!!!! Ok, technically it was the fourth, but the fact that he died (and in such a sh*tty way) sucks nonetheless. But then again I suppose if he lived, his coolness would drop, soooo nevermind. Also the lack of extras (there weren't ANY on the 5th and 6th DVDs) hurt. Seriously though, go out and buy this pants-creamingly good anime NOW!!!! Don't worry, I'll stay here and watch your computer for you--NOW GO!!!!!

CROSSCRASH!!!!!

****But of course, as we all know, if it wasn't for Gai dying so soon, the series would have gotten a 6/5 (nOC+URN41)****
