| Broken Sky is an action fantasy book series that originated in Britain. The art looks like anime but the author Chris Wooding is not Jappanease. So far of what I know 1-6 have been released in America. 1-9 in the U.K. 1-3 in Canada (I feel bad for them).Broken Sky is about two twins Kia and Ryushi the children of Banto. Banto is the founder of Pararaka a resictance army against King Macaan. Kia and Ryushi were bruoght up being taught suposily how great the king was in a sheltered farm called OskaStud. The cool powers in this book come from these things called spirit stones you get put in your back as a baby every color has a different power. For example Kia's spirit stone allows her to controll earth. Then all the sudden King Macaan atacks Oaskastud and now for what happens buy the books. Broken Sky is my favorite book series I rate it 10 out of 10. | This is definetly a great book series. As you read, you can pick out the Anime influences. It has a really great and complex story. It also has great art on the covers and in the book. The characters develop well. It has incredible action and some really cool concepts. One of my favorite scenes is when Ryushi uses his spirit stones to turn over fifty feet of a battle field into a wasteland using a pur force blast. The books have an incredible depth, don't be turned off by the way they look. They look like kid books but they are really great. The author even said he wants adults to read it. I think these books should be made into a movie. That would be really cool. Offensible content- Quite a bit of violence ranging from sword fighting, people getting crunched in machines, scenes of bloody war and devastated towns and such. There is also some kissing. Total score: 10 of 10. A truly epic and great book that has increible powers, action, and characters. Also a plus, there is no magic. By Milo |
