Concert review(Indianapolis Jan. 6 2001)

In stark contrast to the guttural vocals and rage-driven rock stood You're Pretty. Hailing from Wisconsin and gaining national recognition, the female-fronted quartet was welcomed back to Indianapolis with enthusiasm. Beth Musolff took command of the stage with a menacing grin and powerful but almost ethereal vocals. Backing her was a heavy, stripped-down, mid-tempo, explosive rock band.
Solid beats with bass that loomed up from below were laced with a screeching and atmospheric guitar. You're Pretty showed no fear of musical experimentation within their own brooding, almost goth, music. Only marred by a badly-timed audience member stage-dive at the end of the set, which left the perpetrator on the concrete instead of his feet, You're Pretty was visually and musically impressive. Fans of the darker side of the music world would do well to see this group the next time they come through.
