Oswego Circle K is a member of the Central Lakes division of the New York District of
Circle K International. Whew, that's a mouthful! In short, we are one of the 500+
clubs throughout the US and Canada participating in this lovely organization called
Circle K, part of the Kiwanis family. At every meeting, we discuss upcoming service
projects that all members and local community members are always welcome to take part
in, we discuss ways to expand our club and improve it, and we usually do a small
service project right at the meeting (such as making cards for Make A Child Smile or
paper cranes for this year's disctrict service project 1,000 Cranes to Make A Child
Smile). We always embrace new members, and attendance at every meeting is not required,
although in order to be an official member and put Circle K on your resum, you must
pay dues ($33) each year. It sounds like a lot, but you are contributing to the
development of NYCKI and CKI when you pay these dues, along with receiving a
membership card, Circle K magazine, and the Circling the Empire e-newsletter. If
you have any questions about Circle K, feel free to contact president Stephanie Briggs or any of the other board members.
