Discipleship Blueprint 2003

If nothing else, I'm going to
hammer Acts 17:11 and 1 Peter 3:15 into your heads before
we're done this summer. Being able to sustain self
spiritual growth and being able to defend the faith is nearly
the same as equipping yourselves with the full armor of God
mentioned in Ephesians. Begin to start memorizing where
verses are, even the verses themselves. Begin to
identify what key ideas are in each book of the Bible.
See which ones link together - take, for example the Four
Gospels, Paul's Epistles, Moses' Torah, or even Ezekiel,
Daniel, and Revelation. Now's the time to begin climbing
vertically. You've all done enough climbing
horizontally. Quit crawling along in your growth, start
to shoot upwards now.
So, last week we started on the
Defend Your Faith activity. We'll continue that this
week. Also, we'll get an update from Jack on how the
church conference out in San Jose went. This week's
topic came down to a tie in the votes, but I decided I'm going
to make Integrity and Honor this week's d-time lead topic.
Come prepared with questions.
There are no stupid questions...and no Johnson, it's not
because that means people are stupid. I working on
getting a guest speaker for you all (help pray about this
one). I really want you all to get exposed to what the
ministry field holds.
So, with that in mind, any
questions between now and Thursday, give me a ring on the
phone or IM or email. If you need a ride, let me
know...I'll see you all at Richard's house at 2:00PM this
Thursday. God bless and take care.
Ben:
Well, you're not going to be here, so just check your review
after Thursday for the newest Bible reading guide. I
hope I can stop doing this eventually and that you'll pick
your own reading materials. We'll talk about that when I
get back from my little vacation.
Helen:
Any new questions? You're doing well. Same goes
for the reading guides. Please start preparing your own
reading guides in the Bible and see where that takes you.
Jack:
We want you to share your experience at San Jose. I'm
sure it was a blast. Come prepared with Bible, pen, and
notebook as usual.
Johnson:
I hope you're catching up with the reading. Also, I know
you wanted to learn about the power of prayer...why don't you
take a look at my lesson plan on
prayer for Sunday school class a few weeks ago? It
should give you a good background. We'll definitely be
going back on the topic of prayer eventually. Also, come
prepared with your Bible, a pen, and a notebook. Be not
afraid to ask questions.
Josh:
Any new questions? You seem to be progressing along
quite well with daily devotionals and everything. Come
prepared with the required materials.
Richard:
I want you to share how your job is helping you get closer to
God. Sound hard? Believe me, it most likely won't
be. Also, is there anything we can do to that dog - like
muzzle it? I enjoy playing with pets, but not when they
try to sing and interrupt during d-time. Come prepared
with the required materials.
