Individual Discipleship Plan
Specialized
for: RICHARD
It's good to
see you're getting into the Word. So you read the first
chapter in Galatians, good for you - instead of snacking on
crumbs, you've move to saltine crackers. Now spend more
time with God in prayer, in the Word, in your whole life
worship to Him. You say stuff is going great and that
you want to passionately pursue God. Let me remind you
this: Watch and pray so that you will not fall into
temptation. The spirit is
willing, but the body is weak." (Mark 14:38)
You confirmed
this fact today when we talked about suffering for Christ.
You seem rather willing to die for Christ, but draw the line
when it comes to suffering. I find that fact
interesting. Just for telling me that this week, your
daily reading guide has been altered to focus on the idea of
suffering. Until you're willing to give up every fiber
of your being for God's glory, you can forget serving Him.
God wants all of you, not what you want to give up to Him.
Instead of this parasitic relationship with God, you need to
learn how to develop a two-way stream - remember that every
healthy relationship needs to have a two way communication
where each side is willing to sacrifice to really have
an awesome time together; your relationship with God is no
different.
But I do see
signs of improvement (now if we can only get rid of your
annoying dog during d-times; tell you what I'll bring a cat
just for fun next time
).
You are stepping up your questions and definitely getting back
with God in a very awesome way. Good for you...take your
bow...now get back on that mountain and keep climbing
(remember, no rest for those to seek God's glory).
So here's this
week's supplementary reading plan in addition to your
continued exploration of Galatians:
- Sacrifice:
Following Christ means giving up everything, even maybe a few
fingers and toes...
Matthew 19:16-30
- Fidelity:
Being faithful to God no matter what the situation because He
is continually faithful to us
Romans 3:1-8, 21-31
- Growth: Unless you
face trials and temptations, how can you grow in faith?
Do you really believe sitting around having all the good
things will help develop your need for more of God? You
haven't experienced life until you've felt the lowest of lows
alongside the highest of highs.
James 1:2-18 (you can also see this
worship song devotional)
- Guidelines for & the Passionate Pursuit:
See what Paul has to say about living for God and his example
for pursuing God wholeheartedly.
Ephesians 4:17-5:21
Philippians 3:12-21
Remember
this week's key thoughts:
1.) Remember the Bereans (Acts 17:11)
2.) Defend the Faith (1 Peter 3:15)
3.) Build your life upon Christ (Jude 1:20)
4.) Trust God to provide the answers (Matthew 21:22)
