Individual Discipleship Plan
Specialized for:
JACK
It's good to
know you feel that you are on a "good" level right now with
God. I now challenge you to go from your "good" level to a
"great" level if you wish to become a leader and a teacher.
Remember what I told you about James 1:3 and I would also
expect you to look up 1 Corinthians 9:14. Remember, that if
you are blind in a certain area of your faith, you cannot
possibly lead those younger than you until you can clearly see
the path.
It's awesome
that God is helping you with having self-control and allowing
Him to help you learn from your mistakes. Remember the nail
you've put in your room when you wake up and make sure to take
a few minutes to quiet your heart, read the Word, and pray
before starting the day. Remember that unless you are willing
to start the day with God, Satan will be ahead of you all
day. It's also important to note that while it is important
to learn from mistakes, please do not choose to make
mistakes. That, in essence, is stupidity which can be
considered the equivalent of sinning...(remember that next
time you see something stupid happen
)
So your prayer
requests will be kept in my prayer journal and prayer pad.
Remember that unless you are willing to give your life to God,
the Potter (and I'm not talking about Harry) is going to have
a hard time molding you. Remember to keep in the faith, and
continually explore God's word...focus your mind upon the
Cross and not that Britney Spears poster and you should be
fine.
If you have
any more questions about the book I let you borrow, let me
know. Bill Meyers is a rather funny guy and I think you'll
like the book a lot as it will address a lot of questions you
may have about the faith.
So this week's
devotional guide (the one I gave you is now secondary stuff)
is as follows:
- The Call of Ezekiel: The importance of reading the
Bible and the willingness to tell others about the Good News
Ezekiel 2 & Ezekiel 3 (pay close attention to Ezekiel
2:9-3:8
and Ezekiel 3:17-19)
- The Call of Jonah: An example of who not to be and
how not to act when God calls us to do something
Jonah 1, Jonah 3, & Jonah 4 (pay close attention to Jonah
and
God's conversation in chapter 4...compare this to Job and
God's
conversation from Job 40:1-42:6)
- The Call of Simon Peter: Yes, God can use anyone for
His kingdom, even a stuttering fisherman
John 1:35-42 & Matthew 4:18-22 (the well known phrase "I
will
make your fishers of men" is found here)
- The Call of the Apostle Paul: We can either do this
the nice way or the hard way...well, let's just say Paul chose
the hard way
Acts 9:1-31
