Mission: Possible
Your mission, should you choose to accept it...

Suggested Readings :

Sunday – Understanding the Mission (Romans 8:5-17)

What exactly is our mission from God?  Last week we explored the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) where Jesus told us to “go and make disciples of all nations.”  This week, we began to see the steps of the mission form and explained.  In this set of verses, we are told to live not a sinful life, but a Spirit-filled one.  Is we are God’s children, what must we do to share in his glory?

Monday – Mission Granted (Matthew 9:35 -38)

What is the harvest Jesus is talking about here?  Who are the workers going to be?  Are you willing to be a worker in the harvest?
     (FURTHER READING – Revelations 14:15, 18)

Tuesday – Staying the Mission (James 1:13 -16)

The following verses show the progression of temptation from attraction to conception to separation.  What must we do to avoid temptation?
God expects us to know ourselves and expects us to care how we behave.  God expects us to be accountable and to grow in the spirit.  Above all, God expects us to walk in the Spirit and lead Christ-centered lives.

Wednesday – Following Through On the Mission (12:1-3)

We learn of three important ways to run our mission in these few verses.  We are told to be prepared to run light (verse 1), to shed ourselves of general burdens and specific burdens.  List all of your burdens and see what you need to give to the Lord.  We are told to be expected to run a long and hard mission (verse 1).  Will you have the patience and care to stay the mission?  Do you have the endurance to run the race to harvest souls?  Be prepared to run looking (verse 2, 3).  Are you capable of being alert?  Will you have a sharp eye for people who are in need to Christ?  What will your main focus be-God’s Will or your own?

Thursday – Finishing the Mission (Acts 20:22 -24)

“In the Christian life, it’s not how far you start the matters.  It’s how you finish.” ~Steve Farrar Finishing Strong
Where does Paul desire come from in his life?  How is Paul living out his faith?  What are Paul’s goals and tasks?  Do you have the same desire to live for Christ?  Do you have a list of goals and dreams?  What does it mean for you to Finish the Mission ?
