Physical Education |
On physical education days, students are asked to wear sneakers to class. |
They may bring them from home and change if necessary. |
The following are NOT considered sneakers: slip-ons, hiking boots, sneaker style shoes with heels or platform sneakers. |
Also keep in mind, the new style of oversize baggy jeans and shorts with no belts and jeans that drag on the floor are also a concern in Physical Education. When a child runs, his pants (without a belt) start to slide, limiting his leg movement. At the same time, the student must reach down to hold them up, which leaves him/her with one hand to protect them from falling or to use during an activity. Pants dragging on the ground cause an obviously unsafe situation. |
We also feel jewelry (earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets, watches) can cause an unsafe environment for your child as well as others. Jewelry tends to disappear in the gymnasium. If your child has recently gotten pierced ears, have them notify us and we will take precautions to ensure his/her safety until the earrings can be taken out. |

This coming year as in the past, we will be starting our units with Football, Soccer, Locomotors Skills/Body Awareness and the Presidential Physical Fitness Test. |
