Week of August 31, 2003
Hello all,
Happy Labor Day Weekend.   Nola and I just got back from Land Between the Lakes State Park in North Western TN.   It is a strip of land between the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers with a Bison/Elk range, 1800's farming community, hiking trails, and Civil War memorials.   We stayed at a bed and breakfast in a restored mansion on the Cumberland River with the distinction of being nearly burnt to the ground by Union Forces and used as a hospital during the Civil War.   The mansion was beautifully restored and even had a Koi pond in the herb garden!   It was nice to get away and relax for the weekend.
I am just about ready to send off my application tomorrow.   Thank you once again to those of you who have read over my personal statement.   Since I am applying for a transitional year program in addition to radiology, I just finished writing a second personal statement.   The fun never ends!
Nola was glad for the break as well.   At 14 students, this is twice the number she had last year.   The big hit last week was the sand box.   However, as you can imagine an indoor sandbox with 14 kids is a recipe for disaster and Mrs. Reading says it will be a while before she gives in to the begging to open up the sandbox again.
Write back and Let us know how your weekend went.
Have a great week and God bless,
Brenton Reading
