Hello all,
It is Monday and I have a few extra minutes for lunch so I thought I would take the time to send out the Reading Report.
I was responsible for the sermon this past weekend.   I used the illustration you read in the last Reading Report along with several other stories in my sermon entitled "Beyond Belief."   They gave me a recording, but I am not sure whether it was because they thought I needed to hear the message myself, or if they thought I needed to learn from my mistakes.   Several people mentioned that I have missed my calling.   I sure hope not because a pastor's salary will not go very far toward paying off the debt I am incurring.   Particularly now with our nice little 22% tuition increase.
I spent this morning in a cardiology clinic.   I was excited to actually hear a 2/6 (pretty quiet) murmur for the first time in my life.   We saw some very interesting patients including one with Tetrology of Fallot, a cardiac defect which I was quizzed over mercilessly.   It really is the best way to learn!   I won't forget that the stenosis in Tetrology of Fallot is due to the muscular crista supraventricularis any time soon!
Have a great week and God bless,
Brenton Reading
