Hello all,

Yesterday, I spent the morning fixing the water line into our house.   We fixed it once before, but I either put a bit too much elbow grease into tightening one of the couplings, or the ground settled, or both because one of the connections cracked.   This evening we are going downtown to a Memphis Redbirds ball-game.   The first year we moved here they won the championship in the AAA league.   Then, all of the best players moved up to the majors; so, the team is not doing well this year but we will go and cheer anyway.

You would think there would be a certain amount of relief associated with finishing up yet another year of medical school.   However, step one of the boards is only one month away, so I don't feel like any weight has been taken off of my shoulders.   Thanks to a rather high failure rate in the class ahead of us our class is scared!   (They were 6% below the national average pass rate of 90%. This is unusual for UT students. For example, the year before the pass rate was 1% above the national average.)   Therefore, many of my classmates have been studying in earnest for Step One of the USMLE.   I suppose it is time I joined them.   Your prayers will be appreciated.

God Bless You All,

Brenton Reading
