Week of January 20 and January 27, 2002
Hello All,
How do you like this?   A double issue!   Sorry I didn't get a Reading Report out last week.   Things have been rather busy around here for the past few weeks.   Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on which way you look at it, that hasn't included school.
We have been running the Breathe Free program for the past few weeks and it is going well.   This time we have had 10 attendees.   However, there have been a core group of 4 that have been very dedicated and made it to nearly every meeting.   They are so appreciative that they are going to bring us dinner for our last meeting together this coming Tuesday.
Everpraise was asked to lead out in the main worship hour at our church this past Saturday.   It was humbling and exciting to recieve the request and we put in a couple of extra practices to get ready.   It was our goal to be a worship service and not a performance, and many of the church members said they were blessed.   It was especially encouraging when some visitors came to us and asked us to invite their children to the next service.   We even recieved some very positive comments from the more conservative members, and the pastor asked us to get ready for next month!   I am not sure how much more of this my medical education can withstand, but it is exciting to see the Spirit at work!
You will be glad to hear however (Mom) that I have started studying again thanks to a good friend's reminder and a guest lecturer who reminded me that I am going into a scholarly profession.   One in which it is equally important to be nice and knowledgeable.   The quote I remember most vividly was, "I don't know any good mean doctors, and I don't know any good dumb doctors."
I hope life is treating you well.   I know that many of you, and many of my friends here at school are facing some very stressful situations.   The everpraise verse we took our thoughts from yesterday was Ezekiel 22:30 and we talked about intercessory prayer, so all I can say is pray for me and I'll pray for you.
I hope you have a great week,
Brenton Reading
