Hello all,
Exams are finally over.   The computers were down twice for several hours at a time this week so they extended our testing times to 4:00pm on Easter Sunday.   So for once I got to take an exam in the last possible testing block (normally exams end on Saturday).   I hope the extra time for studying was helpful.   This was a very difficult block (some say the hardest set of exams we will have in the first two years of medical school) and I procrastinated very efficiently.   I put a lot of time into the smoking cessation class, making the class T-shirt, etc.   Thank you to those who have been praying.
This week for my study break Nola and I made an offer on a house just across the interstate from our apartment in a quiet neighborhood and it was accepted.   As soon as our loan comes through we will go to closing.   It looks like we will be moving in after school is over so I won't have the chance use moving into a new house for a study break during the last block of exams.   It was built in 86 and just needs a few cosmetic changes inside to be very livable.   Since our apartment lease runs until the end of June, Nola is planning on getting started on some of the changes before we move in and I will of course help, after exams are over.
This week is our LCP week and since it is the last LCP week of the year we are having our end of the year assessment.   This involves seeing five mock-patients and performing either an examination skill (e.g. Heart and Lung exam) or a part of a medical interview (e.g. obtaining Chief Complaint and History of Present Illness).   I think it will be kind of fun.   Some of my fellow classmates with less patient contact in their past are a bit nervous.   I guess my nursing skills will finally be of some utility in medical school.
I hope all is well with you. Have a great week.
