Hello All,

I just finished my first exam of the last test block of my first semester in medical school. I think it went well and I just pray that the rest of my studying is as productive. Now it is time to focus on Gross Anatomy!

My new cichlid tank is going to be the end of me. First, I almost got in big trouble for nearly killing the fish that we spent a goodly sum of money preparing for. Then, just the other day I was feeding the fish and I noticed one of the rocks was starting to roll back and forth. Suddenly, the force of the water from the dual filter system freed the small boulder from its rocky perch and sent it careening down through the tank. It struck some of the other rocks and started a slide. I could do nothing but watch as the momentum built and the hurtling rocks threatened to crash through the front of the aquarium and displace all 35 gallons of my carefully buffered, isotonic cichlid water all over our leather couch. Luckily for me (and the fish) the rock slide stopped just short of the glass. I will have to be more careful next time I do some aqua-scaping.

My last test is scheduled (by me) for this coming Friday at 2:00 pm. But, if I feel ready I might try to take it earlier. For those who are interested Nola and I will be leaving for Ooltewah as soon as that exam is finished.

Take care, Brent Reading
