Hello All,

Now that I am just a few short years from becoming a doctor I figured it was high time that I learn to wield the most important set of instruments that any physician will ever learn to use. Therefore, I spent several hours this morning with my golf clubs. Coupled with the fact that I went birdwatching with Nola yesterday, some of you may assume that I have become a boring, old, married man. But, actually I get enough of an adrenalin rush just walking in to take a Gross Anatomy exam that I no longer need to tattoo "Spaulding" on a volleyball opponent, or hang off a 90 foot cliff on my fingertips. Oh, all right I am old and boring.

This coming Thanksgiving Nola and I will be back in Chattanooga. We are looking forward to seeing a lot of you. Speaking of Thanksgiving, Nola's school play went very well. In order to celebrate, I took ice-cream and toppings and a couple of videos in to her class. We decided that since it was a school function the kids should learn something as well, so I spent my day off from school on Friday studying up on the electoral college. Then, I made a simulation for the kids so that they could vote for one of the movies and see how the electoral system works differently from a simple popular vote. It was interesting to see how politically aware those little kids were. And, just as we are experiencing, the students who chose to be Floridians in our simulation cast the deciding votes for the video! So, our election did have a clear winner with "The Bear" triumphing over "The Black Stallion."

Next week is our LCP week and we have several free mornings or afternoons so I am already planning my next outing to learn the tools of the trade. I hope life is treating you well, God bless.

Take care, Brent Reading
