Hello All,
The first week of medical school is over and now it is time to reflect on what I learned. I now know where and when my classes will meet. I have been told that the first two years of medical school are, "the worst two years of your life," and that, "medical school is easy, you don't have to study much and can work part time." I am not convinced by either just yet. I also know the names of at least five of my 160 something classmates (names never were my strongpoint). The picture at the left is of me in my new white coat. We received them last Friday at a white coat ceremony which both my parents and my In-laws were able to attend. I will get to wear my new jacket this coming Tuesday as we will be starting our practical education with a practicing physician. I am going to a pediatrician's office. We are supposed to learn to take vital signs. Looks like another tough week for me! You know, I am glad they break us in rather slowly, but I am actually ready for some challenging class work. I suppose that will come soon enough! Take care, Brent Reading |
