Once you are awake enough to breath on your own and respond to some simple commands you will be taken from the OR suite to this area, the post anesthesia care unit(PACU). You will stay here for a little less than an hour so that your vital signs can be closely monitored as you wake up. The next stop will be the hospital room where your family and friends will greet you.
