Executive Summary

 

What is the purpose of this guide?  It serves two purposes.  The first purpose is to introduce you to the possibilities of doing internet research.  The second purpose is to introduce you to topic areas not specified on the course structure.

 

Part 1 covers the most popular search engines in use today.  The two most popular search engines are google and yahoo.   The Search Engine Watch web site has a wealth of information on search engines and other related topics.  Why don’t you visit it in your spare time?

 

Part 2 covers various topic areas and a representative list of web sites relating to the topic areas.  The web sites listed follow the guidelines using the CARS criteria.

 

Part 3 provides an introduction to using the CARS criteria in doing internet research.  The referenced web site can be used for greater explanation.  Utilizing the CARS criteria will provide for greater recognition of information obtained from the various web sites utilized in doing your internet research.
