The 1st week the Osoyoos Spurs and the Vancouver Whalers were combined into one team which means there were alot of moves to make. The first night the Whalers kicked off there Osoyoos Season dropin there 2 goal lead in the Second period and ended up losing the game 4-3. The net afternoon the Whalers were in the same boat playin the same Jets in Oliver again, once again they were up by 2 goals in the second and lost the game 6-4. During the week after the two losses Coach Garry Unger made many moves in the lineup sending players home and to other teams.
Friday night was a new storey, it was the Whalers Home-Opener in Osoyoos.The Whalers took on the Armstrong Sharks after 2 periods of close hockey the Whalers exploded in the 3rd winning the Home-Opener 8-0.
The following weekend the Whalers took on the Jets again and won another one at home. The next night the Whalers played in Oliver and once again the Jets skated to victory 10-3.
After his hat-trick performance in Saturday nights game, and getting 1st honors, Whalers Steven Shaffroth decide to leave the team due to family problems.
The Whalers will take on the Barrhead River Kings this week both Friday and Saturday at the Sun-Bowl Arena both games are 7:30 game times.
