Temple of Osiris

 

 

 

We are an Egyptian-Reconstruction neo-pagan group located in West Orange NJ, devoted to the Egyptian pantheon, and particularly Osiris. 

Calendar

Our reconstruction divides the sacred year into two halves, the Dark, Autumn-Winter (which is ruled by Osiris) and the Light, Spring-Summer (ruled by Horus). The cyclic reigns of these gods are celebrated on the solstices and equinoxes. In addition, every lunar cycle is sacred to Isis.

Practice

Every ritual involves a purification of the sacred space, opening of the shrine of the gods and adorning of their images, kindling of the fire of Ra, and a ceremony of communion with Osiris:

Whether I live or die I am Osiris,
I enter in and reappear through you,
I decay in you, I grow in you.
I cover the earth.
Whether I live or die I am Barley,
I am not destroyed.

 

We also practice traditional African rootwork, candle-magic, hands, mojo &c.

Instruction

Though not required, instruction is available in Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics, rootwork, and drumming for those who desire it.

Cost

There is no charge for participation or membership, though offerings may be made to help with the cost of maintaining the temple.
