Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac, and this fact is very significant, especially to Aries natives, who love to be first in everything. Highly competitive and with a strong ability in leadership, Aries are very energetic and active individuals. This sign represents the first impulse, the first "big bang" if you will that set creation in motion. When Aries has been defeated, or is down and out, there is no other sign better at picking himself up, dusting off, and beginning anew, because this is the sign of new beginnings!
As a Cardinal Fire sign, they are the Fire of Fire. Ruled by Mars, the god of War, they can also tend to be fond of arguing or fighting in general, having a bellicose fire in the belly so to speak. However, this energy can just as easily be put towards competition in the marketplace of employment as in the battlefield. Loyal and pure of heart, they usually lack the cunning to be deceptive, having a great deal of innate innocence in reality.
The biggest obstacle to the success of most Aries is their impulsiveness and tendency to leap before they look. Their spontaneous manner does not always help them in their dealings with others, who may find them a little too outspoken and biting in their speech. They must also learn to cultivate patience! Fun-loving and athletic, they often make very good sportsmen and friends, mellowing somewhat with age. More sensitive types have trouble being around the dynamic, fiery nature of Aries for too long a period of time.
In romance, Aries are very passionate lovers with an inborn
zest for good sex. They are romantic and love to be spoiled by their mate, cherishing even the smallest kindness greatly, and very often repaying it with great loyalty. Although they do not normally have tremendous stamina, they prefer sex that is not too drawn out or complicated. Their attention span can be somewhat short, they are also too impatient to endure a prolonged session of foreplay unless other factors in the chart indicate otherwise (moon in Scorpio for example).
