Pluto - Lord of the Underworld and Transformation

Pluto in Greek mythology was called Hades, the
Lord of the Underworld. He was given dominion over the lands
of the dead. Pluto has only one moon, approximately half
its own size, named Charon. Discovered by Percival Lowell in this century, it spends 246 years lazily orbiting the Sun, spending anywhere from 12-20 years in each of the 12 Zodiac signs of our Zodiac belt.
To give you an idea of exactly how far away Pluto is, imagine standing on the surface of Pluto and looking for the Sun....You could hardly distinguish it from the other stars in the sky! It is so far away, it blends in with the other stars very inconspicuously.
Above, Pluto (or Hades) , abducting Persephone (Spring) from Demeter and taking her to the Underworld.
Pluto represents the farthest point from the Sun, our ego,and as such, it represents our Spiritual Self, too far removed to be concerned with the matters of the Ego or Self, knowing that all this, too shall pass, and indifferent in its outlook on man-made concerns of mortal existence. It represents the power of transformation, rebirth and reincarnation, in an
endless cycle of purification, leading ultimately to reunion
with the divine source of all life.
Ruler of the mystical, complex and often misunderstood sign
Scorpio, Pluto represents the powers of metamorphosis, or transformation. Like the phoenix which rises, reborn, from the ashes of its own destruction, Scorpio too represents the power to eliminate that which is unnecessary in order to make room for something which will grow.
