The Moon and the Hidden Aspects of the Human Personality
Welcome to the Dark Side of the Moon. The purpose of this page is to explore the subconscious, instinctive, reflexive nature of our complex multi-dimensional personalities, that part of us conditioned to respond in a specific way from past experience.
Strangely enough, this planet is associated with our past, our emotions, our intuitive natures and our feminine side. It also reveals clues about your past life as well as representing your mother.
There are three important parts of a birth chart which define the nature of the body, mind, and soul. The Sun sign represents the mind and the nature of the intellect. The rising sign or ascendant represents the nature of the body, as well as describing the first impression given to others. The rising sign, which is established by the precise TIME of birth, is described by the constellation "rising" on the eastern horizon from your place of birth at the time you were born. The Moon sign represents the nature of the Soul. Most people don't know what sign the Moon was in when they were born. The Moon goes through the entire belt of 12 constellations of the Zodiac in 28.5 days, spending only 2.5 days in each sign. No matter what your Sun Sign, the Moon sign could occupy ANY one of the 12, and it is just as important.

I would like to show here the negative side of our being; I use "negative," not because it isn't productive or good, but because it is passive, receptive, and attracts, drawing experience to it. What we may accomplish when we use our intuitive abilities in a positive manner is limitless! Since the Sun represents our conscious self, our Ego, it is always used to write Horoscope columns because it is the easiest with which one may self-identify.
Similarly, the Moon represents our SUBconscious, our soul, our emotions, beneath the surface and only identifiable by tuning in to the still, quiet voice of our intuition. It controls our reflex actions because any instinctive reaction (fight or flight, for example) must be done without consciously thinking about it. It is programmed through lifetimes of evolution, during which habits necessary for survival are engrained in our subconscious so that they come naturally when necessary; no thought or time for mental debate is necessary.
To this end, I dedicate this page to the Moon, mother of all dreams and doorway to the Astral world. I especially hope that the information within this website will help in some small way those who are coping with HIV, Cancer, and other terminal illnesses to find hope in the reassurance that they are innocent and without blame for anything, as some religious groups try to impugn. The power of prayer and the ability to learn how to purposefully direct your own healing process are essential to a positive approach to any state of dis-ease. God willing, everyone may be returned to a state of good health. Never give up hope!
