Contrary to popular belief, Wicca and Witchcraft are two seperate paths. Lets dissect them first to better understand what I mean by that:
Wicca is an Earth religion, based on having two gods, the Lord and Lady, or one Universal Spirit. Magick is used like a prayer. And the Wiccan attunes to nature and the forces around him or her.
Witchcraft is a practice, or a craft. Much like the name implies, Witchcraft is the craft of the Witch. Witches use natural objects in spells, from candles to crystals. Wiccans can also be Witches, because Wicca is sometimes referred to the Religion of the Witches.
Now that we've dissected the two, lets move onward. The first question I hear is how do spells work. Well, it is actually easy. When doing a spell, you attune to the objects in the spell, combine their forces, symbolism, and the energy around you to create a certain goal. Example? I carve hearts into an apple in which I eat. What would this do? I am bringing love into my life (apples being a fruit used in love spells, hearts standing for love).
Wicca is a devotion, in which you learn about yourself in amazing ways. It is not a path for everyone, but if you want to be connected, just work for it. I started when I was twelve, I studied it for a few years and become more devoted when I hit High School. I love it. When fall comes, I can feel the magick in the air. That is another thing, do not think you can feel it, let it come to you. You will know what I mean later, trust me. Do not rush. How can you start? Go outside, and watch nature. Begin to understand it, for in that, you will understand the secrets the Goddess has been holding for many years. |
