Our Penny Drive fund is specifically allocated for improvements and such to the Playground. Bi-yearly penny drives at the school provide the primary income for this fund, with the following rewards for classes:

$25-$50 = a popcorn party
$51-$100 = a candy party
$101-$299 = an ice creamparty
$300+ = a lunch party

It was decided at the September Meeting that we would conduct the penny playground drive for the fall, despite the events of September 11 and the subsequent drive for the Red Cross. The funds from this drive would be forwarded to the relief efforts to help children in the New York/DC areas. During the two weeks of the Relief/Penny Drive, Ocean Shores Elementary Students raised $1000 and a check mailed to the September 11 Children's Fund!
