The library has been a huge project..but we are seeing it come to fruition!
November 18th is the date set to build the new shelves
for our library. The shelves will be painted white
and when dry that kids will be offered an opportunity
to place their hand print on the shelves in red paint.
Each print will cost $1 each and the proceeds will be
used to purchase new books for the library. We are
hoping to have this ready and available on Dec. 2nd at
the craft fair. Once the shelves are built and the
paint is dry, they will need to be filled again.
Anyone wishing to help with the enormous task is more
than welcome to help out. Just call the school and
let them know you want to help. We are also looking
into several options to obtain a computer and library
program to make it easier to keep track of the books.
On November 13th and 14th the students of OSE worked
to make posters to wallpaper the walls of the new
library. Each student was given a large piece of
paper and markers or crayons to make a poster
depicting their favorite book. Every student who made
a poster will be entered into a drawing to be the
ribbon cutter at our grant opening ceremony. We hope
to have the library open for business shortly after
the start of the new year.
