Oscar Nominees Honored at Academy Luncheon

Beverly Hills, CA - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will honor this year's Oscar contenders at its annual Nominees Luncheon on Monday, March 10, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Seventeen of the 19 nominees in the acting categories will be among some 100 nominees from 24 categories who will gather at noon for the traditional pre-Academy Awards fete.

From the leading Actor and Actress categories Adrien Brody, Nicolas Cage, Michael Caine, Daniel Day Lewis, Jack Nicholson, Salma Hayek, Nichole Kidman, Diane Lane and Renee Zellweger are expected to attend. Kathy Bates, Queen Latifah, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Chris Cooper, John C. Reilly, Ed Harris and Christopher Walken are set to represent the Supporting Acting categories. Julianne Moore, nominated for both Leading and Supporting Actress, will also attend.

Scheduled to attend from the Directing category are Stephen Daldry, Rob Marshall and Martin Scorsese. Nominated writers expected are Bill Condon, David Hare, Todd Haynes, Peter Hedges, Charlie Kaufman, Nia Vardalos, Chris Weitz , Paul Weitz and Steve Zaillian.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2002 will be presented on Sunday, March 23, 2003, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5:30 p.m. PST. A half-hour arrival segment will precede the presentation ceremony at 5 p.m.
