Wolfgang Puck Named Chef of 2003 Governors Ball
Beverly Hills, CA - For the ninth consecutive year, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has chosen master chef Wolfgang
Puck to create the cuisine at this year's post-Oscar-show Governors Ball.
The Governors Ball, where Oscar nominees, winners, presenters and performers celebrate, is the official party of the 75th
Anniversary Academy Awards(R). Puck's company, Wolfgang Puck Catering and Events, will prepare and serve his culinary creations.
"The Academy has a longstanding relationship with Wolfgang and we know his masterful creations will help to make the Governors Ball
a spectacular anniversary celebration," said Governors Ball Chair Alan Bergman.
Puck and his talented team of chefs will create the multi-course, sit-down meal for the Academy's 1,650 guests.
"In preparation for this year's Governors Ball, my staff and I have reviewed decades of menus from throughout the Academy Awards'
75-year history," said Puck. "This year's menu will reflect that rich history, making it an unforgettable event."
In addition to Puck's personal involvement, culinary artists from Wolfgang Puck Catering and Events will be responsible for all
cooking, presentation and service of the food. Puck's Oscar Night(R) team will include top chefs from many of his restaurants, who
will work in the state-of-the-art kitchen in the Governors Ballroom at the Hollywood & Highland complex.
Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2002 will be presented on Sunday, March 23, 2003, at the Kodak Theatre at
Hollywood & Highland and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5:30 p.m. PST. A half-hour arrival segment
will precede the presentation ceremony at 5 p.m.
