Cheryl Cecchetto Named Producer of 2003 Oscar Governors Ball

Beverly Hills, CA - For the 14th consecutive year, special events producer 
Cheryl Cecchetto has been appointed to produce the Academy of Motion Picture 
Arts and Sciences' Governors Ball.  The gala event for Oscar winners and 
nominees will immediately follow the 75th Academy Awards telecast on Sunday, 
March 23.

"This year's Governors Ball will pay homage to 75 years of the Academy's 
history," said Cecchetto. "The theme will reflect the nostalgia, 
sophistication and celebrations of the last 75 years."

Cecchetto and her team are responsible to Governors Ball Chair Alan Bergman 
and Academy President Frank Pierson for every detail pertaining to the event, 
including décor, lighting, sound, rentals, entertainment, food and personnel.

Sequoia Productions, Cecchetto's company, recently produced the 
Sotheby's/Platinum Guilds Women with Heart event, Young Presidents 
Organization's Global Leadership Conference, the Guess 20th Anniversary and 
more recently the 100th Anniversary of Cedars Sinai Medical Center.

The Governors Ball will be held in the Governors Ballroom on the top level of 
the Hollywood & Highland complex following the 75th Academy Awards.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2002 will be presented on 
Sunday, March 23, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland and televised 
live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5:30 p.m. PST.  A half-hour 
arrival segment will precede the presentation ceremony at 5 p.m.
