Robert Z. Shapiro Named Senior Exec Consultant

Beverly Hills, CA - Robert Z. Shapiro has been named senior executive consultant to 
75th Anniversary Academy Awards Telecast Producer Gilbert Cates.  It is Shapiro's 
tenth Academy Awards assignment.

"Robert Shapiro has unique skills that have always made him a valuable member of 
my Oscar team," said Cates. "As we assemble the elements of this year's Oscar 
telecast celebrating 75 years of movie excellence, it's great to know that I can 
once again rely on Robert's tremendous talents."

Shapiro most recently served as strategic consultant for the first "NASA and the 
Creative Community Symposium."  Prior to that, he served as chief creative officer 
of Solution Media's SpinRecords.com, a pioneering website specializing in 
downloading music from the internet.  Shapiro also has served as an associate 
producer, supervising visual effects and post-production for movies and mini-series 
for the ABC, NBC and CBS networks and was vice president of original programming 
for the Interactive Television Group at Box Top Studios. 

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2002 will be presented on 
Sunday, March 23, 2003, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland and televised 
live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5:30 p.m. PST.  A half-hour arrival 
segment will precede the presentation ceremony at 5 p.m.
