October 1 is Oscar Entry Deadline for Documentary Films Beverly Hills, CA - Documentary filmmakers who have either short subject or feature-length films eligible for the 75th Academy Awards must submit their entry forms and supporting materials to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences by Tuesday, October 1, Documentary Branch Executive Committee Chair Freida Lee Mock reminded today. The supporting documentation that must accompany each entry includes a synopsis of the film in English, a 12-month theatrical exhibition plan, film credits, scene stills, 15 VHS cassette tapes of the film and proof of qualifying exhibition. Videotapes will be distributed to screening committees comprised of Academy member documentary filmmakers who will determine the nominees. The 75th Academy Award nominations will be announced at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at 5:30am PST. Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2002 will be presented on Sunday, March 23, 2003, from the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5:30 p.m. PST.
