Randy Newman to Perform with John Goodman on Oscar® Telecast Beverly Hills, CA - Randy Newman and John Goodman are scheduled to perform on this year’s Academy Awards® Telecast, producer Laura Ziskin announced today. They will perform Newman's Oscar-nominated song "If I Didn't Have You" from the animated film, "Monsters, Inc." for which Goodman provided the voice of "Sullivan." Newman, who has received 16 Academy Award® nominations, will be making his seventh performance appearance on the telecast. His previously nominated songs include "A Fool in Love" from "Meet the Parents" (2000), "When She Loved Me" from "Toy Story 2" (1999) and "I Love to See You Smile" from "Parenthood" (1989). In 1998, Newman received a nomination in each of the three music categories: Original Dramatic Score for "Pleasantville," Original Musical or Comedy Score for "A Bug’s Life" and Original Song "That’ll Do" from "Babe: Pig in the City." Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2001 will be presented on Sunday, March 24, 2002, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5:30 p.m. (PST).
