Sting to Perform at The 74th Academy Awards

Beverly Hills, CA - Singer-songwriter Sting will perform at the 74th Academy Awards, producer 
Laura Ziskin announced today.  This will be his second time performing on the Oscar show.

Sting will sing "Until . . ." from "Kate & Leopold," for which he is nominated in the Original 
Song category.  At the 73rd Academy Awards, he sang "My Funny Friend and Me" from "The Emperor's 
New Groove," for which he also was nominated in the Original Song category.

In addition to his music, this multi-talented artist has acted in diverse roles in over a 
dozen films that include "Quadrophenia," "Stormy Monday" and  "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking 
Barrels," as well as performing on Broadway in Kurt Weill's  "Threepenny Opera." Sting's last 
studio record, "Brand New Day," won awards for Best Pop Album and Best Pop Male Vocal 
Performance at the 2000 Grammy Awards.  ". . . All This Time," Sting's new live album 
released last fall, has sold 2.4 million records worldwide.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2001 will be presented on Sunday, March 
24, 2002, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland and televised live by the ABC 
Television Network beginning at 5:30 p.m. PST.  A half-hour arrival segment will precede 
the presentation ceremony at 5 p.m.
