Banners Raised for 74th Academy Awards Beverly Hills, CA - Banners celebrating the 74th Academy Awards were erected at locations throughout the city yesterday. The banners were placed along the streets of West Hollywood, Los Angeles and downtown Hollywood, near the Awards ceremony's new home at Hollywood & Highland, and will remain up through the Oscar presentation on Sunday, March 24. Kyle Cooper and his graphic design firm, Imaginary Forces, created the banners using the version of the Oscar statuette from this year's official Academy Awards poster designed by graphic novel illustrator Alex Ross. The banners, manufactured by AAA Banner of Los Angeles, are a reflection of the Awards show set, and were designed by Cooper to create a cohesive look among all show-related elements. Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2001 will be presented on Sunday, March 24, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5:30 p.m. PST. A half-hour arrival segment will precede the presentation ceremony at 5 p.m. - #### - - - -
