Tom Hanks Makes it Ten at the 74th Academy Awards

Beverly Hills, CA - Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks will present at the 74th Academy 
Awards Ceremony on March 24th, show producer Laura Ziskin announced today.  This will be 
the tenth time that Hanks, who is also a governor of the Academy, has served as a presenter on 
the telecast.

Last year, Hanks was nominated for an Academy Award for the leading role in "Cast Away."  
He has been nominated five times and is a two-time Oscar winner.  Hanks won consecutive 
Oscars in 1993 and 1994 for the leading roles in "Philadelphia" and "Forrest Gump," 
respectively.  He currently is filming "Catch Me If You Can" and will be seen next in 
"The Road to Perdition" opposite Paul Newman.  Hanks' other film credits include "Big," 
"Apollo 13," "Saving Private Ryan" and "A League of Their Own."

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2001 will be presented on Sunday, 
March 24, 2002, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland(R) and televised live by 
the ABC Television Network beginning at 5:30 p.m. (PST).  A half-hour arrival segment will 
precede the presentation ceremony at 5 p.m.
