Personal Comments

This is one of the few movies where the sequal is as good, if not better, than the original. (One such exception is Shrek 2.)

There was more chemistry between the characters, but still little depth. That fact is negligable as the plot of the film is solid, and the new characters (Jessie, Bullseye, Stinky Pete) are very memorable, more so than the first film.

I liked this film more than Toy Story as it was funnier and more clever. In addition, the computer graphics were much more developed.

If there was any downside to the film, it's the scene with the song "When she loved me," which slows down the pacing of the film right in the middle when things are heating up.

Plot:
Very well written; funny and humerous. The outtakes were a nice touch.

Animation:
The computer animation is better than the original and keeps on getting better with every film Pixar makes.

Sound:
Every sound is created from scartch and most are unique. A big plus.

The only downside is the OScar Nominated song, "When She loved Me," which is a boring song, and a big downer when you don't need one.

Character Development:
Buzz, for the most part, is the same as he was in Toy Story. Woody, on the other hand, changes and grows considerably throughout the picture. The rest of the cast (except Jessie and Stinky Pete) stay the same.

Atmosphere:
You should have seen Toy Story to understand this film, but if you haven't, you'll enjoy it anyway. You can easily get lost in a picture like this... it's not just for the kids.

Realism:

How Disney is the movie?
It is Disney, and then again it's not; however, Disney is FULL of buddy-buddy movies with sappy -er, happy endings. This is EXACTLY the kind of movie Disney has been putting out over the years. Only this one is better than most.

Warrens Rating:

Movies it was nominated with for Best Animated Feature:
This catagory did not exist in 1998.
