Best quote: "I ask for nothing!" "And you shall receive it, IN ABUNDANCE!" - Magenta and Dr. Frank-N-Furter
After Janet (Susan Sarandon) accepts Brad (Barry Bostwick)'s marriage proposal, the happy couple drive away from Denton, Ohio, only to get lost in the rain.
They stumble upon the castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry), a transvestite who is holding the annual convention of visitors from the planet Transsexual in the galaxy Transylvania.
Not long after Brad and Janet arrive, Dr. Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest project: a Dr. Frankenstien-esq creation named Rocky Horror that could double for hittler's so-called "perfect person." Rocky Horror is a young man, blond haired and blue eyed with a strapping body. The perfect person indeed.
Rocky fears Dr. Frank-N-Furter and rejects his sexual advances. But when Dr. Frank-N-Furter announces that he is returning to the galaxy Transylvania, Riff Raff the butler and Magenta the maid declare that they have plans of their own, all the while Brad and Janet are stuck in the erie castle with no where to go...
Tim Curry, in his outragous mind-blowing, gender-bending musical role deserved an Oscar nomination for his work. Tim is really the heart and soul of the picture.
Other than that, the picture really makes no sense. For one thing, I don't understand it at all! The point of the film is never really made clear at all; you are left guessing what the heck is going on. I could never figure it out. It isn't ever clear what Brad and Janet's roles are, either. They are mearly supporting characters to Dr. Frank-N-Furter, any way.
For being THEE cult film, it sure is hard to understand. I don't understand the picture and certainly do not understand the attraction of this film to the masses... however each to his own, I guess.
Plot:

There is a plot but it is hard to understand on the first viewing. And the time-warp/space travel stuff at the end just makes the whole film more confusing.
Visual Effects:

Art/set direction was well done. Make up, costumes, etc. were also very well done. However, there are some special effects shots, and for the most part look great. Everything was done well.
Sound:

In any musical, be it Chicago or Moulin Rouge, the songs make the film. Rocky Horror is no exception.
Character Development:

Atmosphere:

Rocky Horror is a HARD film to get into. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Realism:

Warrens Rating:

6.57/10Is the movie worth your time to watch?
