The film is broken down into three parts: the fist, pre civil war, tells of the life of two seperate families, one in the north and one in the south.
The second part deals with the civil war, who won and who lost, and how each family sent their sons off to fight.
The last part deals with the black majority in the south and typical stereotypes brought out by white men. How the African-Americans are lustful rapists and such like that. It also deals with the uprise of the KKK.
I HATE THIS MOVIE.
I mean, this is a bad movie. No, it was produced badly, but it just SUCKS. It's AWEFUL. It's incredibly racist and it deals with the KKK (who sohould all be shot, every single one of them... I won't say anymore).
Come on, do you really belive all the B.S. That Griffiths feeds us? PUH-LEASE.
Plot:

This film is just one racist man's opinion of how the civil war turned out.
Visual Effects:

There are MANY different camera angles and shots that had never been seen up to this point. Also, there are COLOR TINTED scenes. When there is fire on screen, the scenes are tinted red; a couple scenes are tinted blue and many are in sepia-tone (brown/yellowish brown).
Sound:

I was amazed to hear O Christmas Tree (?) and the theme from Apocalypse Now, among others.
Character Development:

Atmosphere:

This is very hard film to get into because of its reputaion. Only TRUE film buffs would want to watch this piece of trash.
Realism:

The African-Americans were all played by white men in makeup (minus one star); there is a lot of lies in the film (minus one star) and there is waaaay too much racism (minus two stars).
Warrens Rating:

I HATE THIS FILM.
Now, I may have given stars for certain catagories, but this is such a bad film that it automatically gets no stars.

0/10Is the movie worth your time to watch?
