In the collaboration effort between UNSW CSE and Prince of Wales Hospital Medical Research Institute (POW MRI) Falls and Balance Research Group (FBRG), taking part in designing, implementing and maintaining a game that helps motivate patients undertake physiotherapy. Responsibilities includes:

  • Interviewing patients and physiotherapists about what their interests and demands are
  • Brainstorming ideas for the game
  • Implementing a prototype of the game with PyGame, Wiimote and WiiBoard
  • Maintaining the game after playtesting with patients at Nursing Homes

Bar Attendant

02/2008 - Present

Australian Jockey Club (AJC)

Approximately 200 guests were being served during the 4 - 6 hours shift each fortnight. My communication and coordination skills were constantly being tested and improved. Responsibilities includes:

  • Cashiering
  • Giving guests a hospitality welcome
  • Serving alcoholic drinks
  • Stacking up refrigerator

First Aider (Volunteering)

10/2007 - Present

St. John Ambulance Australia (SJAA)

Over 200 duty hours have been served in a duration of 5 months. A range of communications, management and first aid skills are required to carry out the tasks during duties. My first aid and management skills are constantly being trained and kept up to date. Specific responsibilities includes:

  • Provide first aid to the general public during events
  • Coordinating with Control center through radio communications
  • Providing the general public with answers to any enquiries about SJAA

Chief Set Designer

Sitanchi Artists Theatre Group

Working with a team of approximately 5 - 10 members, design and construct a presentable set for a stage performance drama show. Communications and discussions are constantly carried out between department leaders and directors. Major responsibilities included:

  • Designing an appropriate standard-sized model for presentation
  • Coordinate team members to construct the set within time schedule
  • Communicate and coordinate between departments
  • Control expense within budget

Written Communication: high level written communication skills have been honed as a result of extensive report writing, research proposal preparation and through my own determination to express myself clearly, appropriately and professionally in writing.


Leadership: extensive team experience in my stage performance volunteer work as a chief in-charge of the department provided many rich opportunities for me to exercise my natural qualities as a leader. As the person in-charge of a team, I used my patience and listening skills to smoothen complaints from fellow team members, while reflecting it in a non-hostile way to my superiors, providing a bridging medium for the whole crew.
