| Soon they were all asleep. Right after 1 AM today, I already turned off the lights but still had the TV on, then I saw a cockroach (yuck) crawling across the carpet. So I started banging on the carpet trying to kill it. Then I banged right next to Tara twice, I guess I woke her up, and she got startled, and Samson was already sitting up because his hearing is better, and I guess the first thing Tara saw was Samson (they were sleeping like a "T", with Tara's face pointing directly at Samson's body), and she attacked him. I couldn't see very well so I didn't put my hands between the dogs to break up the fight, but I quickly turned on the lights, and saw Samson cowering down, with Tara sort of on top of him, her mouth holding onto his face. I pried open Tara's mouth with one hand and the other hand on her collar, and realized the crates are in the bedroom (at the end of the hallway), so I dragged her into the bathroom (between the livingroom and bedroom) for timeout, while I examined Samson. I don't see any injuries on him. I think he did what Peter did, submitted immediately. Also I think part of the reason that Keely had a big tear was "maybe" because I tried to pull Tara away by her collar while she was still holding onto Keely's ear. Also you realize this is 4 hours after Samson and Tara met, exact same timing as the incident with Keely and Peter; maybe it's just all coincidence (which I was trying very hard to avoid with Samson). | ||||||||||
| Tara says, I dont understand why the boy is so interested in the cat. Samson sniffed the toys in the toy basket but I put the basket on the kitchen table before he got hold of any (so he and Tara wont fight over it). Also I set out the second water bowl, one for each dog (just something I learned from the guinea pig forum, that to put out one water source per animal). |

| Anyways, they are back to ignoring each other now, but Samson has learned and gets a little apprehensive when Tara lies down with her face pointing toward him. So he would get up and move away and sleep elsewhere. | ||||||||||

| Tara trying out Samsons bed. We took a one and half mile walk late this afternoon. They were walking side by side and Samson was happy and walking very fast (although a couple times I did have to pull him away from utility poles). |

| Sunday, September 24, 2006 This morning at 1 AM, again I had the TV on but the lights off, and I already fell asleep in front of the TV. At 1 AM, I was awaken by Samson walking toward me and lying down right next to me on the carpet. As I was petting him, Tara walked toward us. I dont know what happened (I didnt have my glasses on), but suddenly Tara lunged at Samson, even though I couldnt see very well without my glasses, it happened right in front of me so I just pulled Tara away. And then I held on to her collar while I turned on the lights and put on my glasses and put her into the bathroom for a five-minute timeout. And then I checked Samson, he was cowering in the livingroom corner, I felt some saliva on his shoulder area, dont know if its his own (he drools sometimes) or from Tara, but he seemed physically fine, so I just left him alone and didnt pet him (didnt want to perpetuate his fear state of mind). After I let Tara out, I put a tab leash on her. After about another five minutes, Samson came out of the corner and was walking around with Tara. |
