Tara
I don't give the dogs rawhides, or Greenies.  I give them pig ears mostly, occasionally "bully sticks" (bull's private part), and sometimes we splurge when we go to Atlanta and get "moo tubes", which is cow trachea, and supposedly contains natural glucosamine.  Lexi absolutely loves that stuff, and I got her several every time we went to Atlanta (as reward for CGC).   I got one for Tara too, when I transported Peter to Atlanta, as reward for putting up with Keely and Peter.  It was pretty funny, Tara loves it too, but it took her two whole hours to eat it, it was like her first time getting chew treats.  She kept chewing, but not much was coming off.  It takes Lexi about 2 minutes to eat them.  I haven't given Tara much chew treats, because she skips her regular meals.  When she had the moo tube, she skipped her breakfast the following day

Angie emailed updates about Bella, You know I have been telling you what a good puppy Bella is well, today she was feeling real naughty.  Ha ha.
She must be feeling better than ever with her tapeworm completely gone and her spay healing nicely.
1.  She pulled her bed from her crate out and ripped foam in 1000  pieces when I went to brush my teeth.
2. Went to quickly check emails which is right off the den where she is gated and she got mail off the counter and ripped it in 1000 pieces  All  junk mail thank goodness.
3. Became way too interested in chasing the cat and plowed through the very tight fitting baby gate to get to him.  Cat was a lot faster thank goodness.
Now for the good stuff.  She must have been very hungry after our LONG afternoon walk and when I was getting the food ready she went and sat in her crate waiting for it.  Very good girl.
She hasn't had an accident in the house for several days now and I have only had her 8 days.
Can't seem to wear her out with a little ball playing and walks the last couple of days.  Oh, and she is supposed to be fairly quiet from her spay  until Friday. Whew!
I am going to miss this smart little clown but I know she will be much happier with kids and maybe even a younger dog to play with.

Deirdre also emailed updates about Peter.  Peter is doing great!!  He is such a wonderful boy!  I think his name should be Love Bug.  The only time he gets upset is when you stop petting or rubbing him.  We feel so lucky to have him and we would love to adopt him.
He's also been doing fine when we leave.  I have been leaving him in the crate when we go out for a few hours.  I think he might be okay in the house but I thought I would give it a little more time.  At night, he has been sleeping in our room on his bed and he has been great.

Tomorrow I am going to Walk N Wag in Montgomery.  This event is sponsored by the Montgomery Humane Society.  Last year I found out about the event, but I already bought tickets to go to California for a visit the weekend before I found out, so I couldnt go.  I asked around and nobody was willing/able to go, but one of the ESRA members in Montgomery said she went once before and it was a very good event (but she couldnt do it last year because she works in the insurance industry and had to deal with all the hurricane claims this time last year).  After Angie moved to Montgomery and we met at the vet school open house, I told her about Walk N Wag and she said shes willing to organize it for ESRA.  We are allowed to sell merchandise at the booth, but we have to pay $50 vendor fee, plus 10% of proceed if we make over $250.  Angie was really nice and said shes donating the $50 fee to ESRA.  For this event, I didnt have to plan much, just picked up some stuff from Carol in Atlanta when I transported Peter, and then brought along the usual event stuff I have.  I also made a dozen of Springer cookies, and a dozen of carrot peanut butter muffins.  I decided not to make the usual banana carob chip muffins, because I though the weather was going to be really hot and melt the carob chips like at Muttfest.  Angie brought bottled drinks, muffins for breakfast (for the humans), dog cookies as free give-aways, price tags, paper towels, 2 large bottles of water, cooler with ice, and a water bowl for the dogs.  Millie brought bagged and tagged sugared pecans and chocolate chip cookies that Judie made and bottles of water to sell.  She also brought cooler with ice and Ringo, who was Judies foster dog at the time, and he was our booths mascot for the event.  Judie wasnt able to come to the event, so Millie picked him up from Birmingham the day before.  Also Deborah near Mobile was going to come also, but one of her dogs got sick and they werent able to make it either.
As Angie and I were setting up the booth, Millie arrived with Ringo.  Heres the ESRA booth.
I decided not to take Tara to the event because again I thought it was going to be really hot.  And also it will be hard for me to set up the tent and table and have to watch Tara at the same time.  But I left Auburn at 5:30 AM to meet Angie at her house at 6:15 AM.  We arranged this early because Angie was told to have the booth set up by 7 AM.  Angies house is fairly close (within walking distance) to Blount Cultural Park, the venue for Walk N Wag.  The park is also the site for Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, Montgomery Symphany Orchestra, and Montgomery Ballet.  I got to see Bella again at Angies house.  She was so excited, Im not sure if she remembers me or just that shes so excited seeing any visitors.  I didnt get to see Angies own Springer or her cat.  Angie said her dog was still sleeping in the bedroom.  I followed Angies car to the parks parking lot, several of the booths are already set up.  The area where the non-humane-society booths are is right in front of the Shakespeare Festival building.
We had the Petsmart booth on our right, and an invisible fence companys booth on our other side.  Also the Montgomery Obedience Club also was there to microchip the dogs for a fee.
The vet clinic that Angie uses also had a booth there.  The humane societys vet came by and she said that Dr. Golden works a lot with the humane society and with rescue groups.
