| Tara was pretty good in class, did Sit, Down, Stay all very well without treats. She was even okay when we did the group picture and Tara was right in the middle. Now I just need to practice with her more to get her ready for the CGC test. | Rebekah gave each of us a bag of dog treats as graduation present. Here are the goodies in Taras bag. | |||||||

| And I gave a chew stick to Peter also of course. They both enjoyed it very much. | ||||||||
| To reward Tara being so good in class, I gave her one of the chew sticks. | ||||||||

| Notice the little short leash on Taras collar. Thats her tab leash, well, at least thats what supposed to be, I didnt have a real tab leash, so I just clipped a Gentle Leader onto her collar to use as a tab leash. A tab leash serves as reminder to Tara that she is still under my direct supervision. A little additional weight on her collar reminds her of that, so she would think a little bit before she reacts, so that she wouldnt get into another fight with Peter. I occasionally put the tab leash on her after her fight with Keely too, and I think it helped also. Angie emailed about Bella, Bella is home from her spay and came through it very well. They also did the 2nd treatment for tapeworm that was due. She is very sleepy and resting comfortably. I hope that I can keep her quiet enough when she starts to feel herself again. My vet came through again with a total of 117 dollars which included the tapeworm shot, pre op bloodwork, pain meds and antibiotic. Friday, September 1, 2006 Bella is doing great. She is getting her energy back a little after yesterday's spay. She is taking her medication very well. What a sweet girl. I do however think that having a puppy around is like having a toddler. |

| Thursday, August 31, 2006 I tested Peter with run of bedroom for five and half hours yesterday while I was at school and he was fine. He was asleep next to the open crate when I came home. However I left him in the crate this morning when I went to school because I recommended to Deirdre that he be crated while home alone the first few days, just until he's more used to his new home environment. |

| I received Drs. Foster&Smiths Chew Stop today and have started putting it on Taras lick granuloma, after I removed her bandage wrappings. At least now her wounds can get some air circulation, without my worrying about her licking on them. | ||||||||

| Saturday, September 2, 2006 I decided to test Peter to see how he does when his food bowl, biscuit treats, chew treats, and toys are taken away from him. He usually eats fast with his food and then eyes Taras when she eats hers slowly. So usually I have to use body block to keep him away from her food. There have been a couple incidences between Keely and Peter getting near Taras food, and each time Tara didnt seem to care, but just to be on the safe side, I try to keep Peter away from Taras food while shes still eating. Anyways, today I decided to pick up Peters bowl while hes eating, and hes fine with that, no problem. He just looked at me for a second and went to take a drink of water instead. I then put some more food in his bowl so he would feel good about letting people take his bowl away later. I also gave him another one of the chew treats that Tara got from her obedience class. I didnt give Tara one also because she skips her regular meals sometimes as is. Anyways, Peter liked the chew treat, and let me take it away with no problem (I kept telling him good boy at the same time), but when Tara went to sniff the chew treat as he was chewing it, he let out a low growl, and Tara walked away immediately. It was just that one growl, so I think hes pretty good with that too. |
