Jake was so curious that he constantly put his front paws on the stone parapet flanking the sides of the trail, trying to look over the stones. |

Fat Mans Squeeze. The temperature was a little cooler than the temperature outside of Rock City as we walked through the humongous stones, so I put Anastasias sweater on her. |

Trees in the parking lot. We saw two more dogs there, again smaller than Jake, when we were at the parking lot again. |

By the time we left, it was about closing time for Rock City, and the sun was setting. We passed by both Incline Railway and Ruby Falls, both do not allow dogs, but Ruby Falls is open until 8 PM year round (because its a water fall thats inside a cave, so its sort of indoor), I thought about parking the car in the parking lot and leave Jake and Anastasia in the car while I go see Ruby Falls (no sun and cooler temperature by that time, so I didnt have to worry about them getting overheat in the car), but I was so tired and decided to drive to the hotel in Chattanooga instead. But we all had so much fun at Rock City, that I would love to come again and also visit other attractions in Chattanooga next time. The Chattanooga Visitor Bureau website has a list of boarding kennels in the area (not all cities do this), so maybe I could leave the animals there for a couple hours while I go see the aquarium next time we come. Here in the picture is Jake eating his dinner. His appetite is pretty good even on trips. |

For my dinner, I left Anastasia in the hotel room and took Jake with me to the restaurant. I left Jake in the car while I ate some traditional Southern cooking. I decided to take Jake with me because I didnt know if he would mark inside the hotel room when without my supervision. My foster dogs are not allowed on the bed with me, even when we stay in hotels, and Im not going to let them sleep on the hotel carpet, so I brought along the crate. Both Jake and Anastasia were so tired that they went to sleep immediately, and Jake didnt protest at all when I closed the crate door. |

The next morning, we drove to Knoxville. We first stopped at Janet As house. Janet is an ESRA volunteer. However, Janet and I first met when I was researching about rescued guinea pigs. Janet runs a guinea pig rescue out of her house. When I introduced myself in my second email to her, I told her about my volunteer works with the animal rescue groups, and it turns out that shes an ESRA member too! Then when she looked at my website, it turned out that she and another volunteer did the home visit for Dudleys family, what a coincidence! Then later when I accidentally sent Janet A. an email about Brenna that I intended to send to Janet J. in GA, Janet in Knoxville asked me if Brennas family was the one who temporarily fostered Briar, who was being boarded in Knoxville at the time. What a small world! I had told Janet A. before that I would go up to meet her and visit her guinea pigs when I go see Dudley. So there we were. Janet adopted her dog, Gracie, through ESRA. Gracie is about 10 years old now, and a very sweet and laidback dog. Janet said Gracie doesnt like it when people take pictures of her, they dont know why, and she did hide when I took pictures of her. I also met Janets three kids, ages 15, 13 and 8, and their 21 year old Siamese mix cat, Annie. Annie looks like a blue lynx point and very healthy. Annie and Anastasia didnt meet, because I told Janet that Anastasia can be a little bossy around other cats. |
