Keely

Keely did great over Christmas with everyone home.  She was even fine with Milo, the cat, but we did keep them separated as much as possible.
There is one problem we are having and we are not sure what to do about it.  Two weekends ago Keely was very sick- vomiting so much.  We thought by sunday night she was better because she ate and kept her food down.  Monday morning she ate again and I left to go to work (part time 7-12 a few days a week) and when I got home she was sick again.  I called the vet and they ran a few tests ($300) and gave us an antibiotic for blood in the urine.  The next morning the vet called and told us that her pancreas is slightly elevated and the liver elevation is 4 which she said is significant.  She recommended another test but now that the antibiotics are gone Keely is fine.  We are considering this other test to check before and after blood tests but are wondering if it is really necessary.

Barbara asked me if I would like to dog-sit Keely for three weeks in May while they go on two separate trips, and I told her yes.  So yesterday I met Barbara and her mom near Clanton to pick up Keely.  At the rest stop where we met, Keely definitely remembered me as she licked my face.  After she jumped into my car, while Barbara and I were talking and looking over Keelys stuff, Barbaras mom noticed Keely was shaking.  We werent sure why, but we let her out and gave her some drink of water.  Barbara brought some water from home, so to minimize Keely getting stomach upset.  We gave her about one cup of water, then waited about ten minutes, then gave her another cup.  Barbara said not to give her too much at a time when shes very thirsty, because or else Keely would throw up.  Barbara also donated Keelys crate to ESRA, as they hadnt used it in a long time.
It was interesting that Keely did not even attempt to come to sit in the front passenger seat on the drive back to Auburn, even though I invited her.  I guess she remembered that I didn't let her sit in the front when I fostered her, even though it's been almost two years since her adoption.
When we got back to my apartment, Tara was sleeping, and Keely avoided getting near Tara as much as possible.  When Tara woke up and started walking around, Keely got nervous, and before I was could stop Tara, she staggered right in front of Keely and started sniffing.  Keely growled and I don't know who barked first, but soon both were barking, and I pushed them apart just in time.  Then I got a call back and had to go to school to use computer to email a resume immediately, so I had to leave my mom with the two dogs.  I told her to put one of the dogs in the crate if they start growling again, but my mom said not to worry and that she knows what to do.
When I got back an hour later, both girls were sleeping near the front door, about 5 feet apart.  I was amazed.  Mom said that she just supervised the dogs and make sure they never got into each other's faces, took each dog out potty again, and soon they just calmed down and fell asleep (I am amazed because my mom, or my dad, has never owned a dog, but I guess a lot of it is common sense and similar to child-rearing...or something...).
Keely was a little hesitant eating her dinner at first, and I did hand-fed her the first couple kibbles, but after that, she finished by herself.
I clipped her hair and trimmed her nails, did the body and the front legs last night.  Keely has the most gorgeous, shiny and thick, rich dark brown hair.  It's almost like watching a Pantene commercial (lucky dog getting all that organic dog food from you :)  She was very good until I started trimming her tail, then she got up.  Mom said Keely probably had it for the day, so I stopped.
And took some pictures of her with the flowers my sister sent for graduation.  Keely tried to chew them a little bit.
