Sunday July 3, 2005 I switched Jake back to Nutro Ultra. After no poop for 48 hours, Jake finally pooped again yesterday afternoon. Diarrhea again this time. He also had to poop about every six hours until early this morning. I think he's sensitive to one of the Solid Gold canned foods. The diarrhea stopped this morning, I think because I started giving him slippery elm last night. I was giving it to Anastasia for chronic gingivitis, but last night I realized it was causing her to have constipation. So I thought, constipation, diarrhea, hmm. And when I looked up in Dr. Pitcairn's book, there it is, slippery elm is one of the remedies for diarrhea, so I gave Jake some.

Samson loves to play with Jakes squeaking toys. Also, Samson started drinking out of the water bowl in the living room, so later I removed the bowl in the kitchen. But Samson now knows to wait for Jake to finish first then go up to the bowl. Jake still half growled at Sam twice when Sam sniffed at "Jake's" dog biscuits and chew treat as Jake was getting ready to eat them (I have them all over the floor all day, and Jake doesn't care the other times, just when he's getting ready to eat them).

Samson spent half of his time at my apartment staring at Anastasia. The two big boys and the little girl all love plain yogurt that I gave them last night.

| Jake is not afraid of lawn mower sound or blow-dryer sound or vacuum cleaner sound, but he get really nervous when it thunders outside. He started pacing and leaning against me yesterday afternoon when the T-storm was starting. When he was pacing, I made him Down-Stay. Then I decided to distract him by playing fetch with him. He wouldn't play at first, but when Samson went after the toys, Jake started fetch too, and Samson chased after him. They played together for about 30 seconds and decided to go back to ignoring each other. So I took out another ball, and the boys fetched with two different balls, they wouldn't use the same ball. At least Jake didn't guard the ball the Samson was playing with. About five minutes after we stopped playing fetch, Jake urinated on a storage container. I don't know if it was caused by the physical activity or by the nervousness from the thunder. | ||||||||||
Monday, July 4, 2005 Jake still had diarrhea last night when we went out for potty break before turning in for the night. But no poop this morning. Jake and Sam have finally started playing together! They played three five-minute sessions the last 24 hours.
